Donald Redl, Jr. Presentation: (Force on Force)
Don Redl is a board certified Investigator licensed in the States of Florida, New York and Wyoming. He is an expert in the field of Firearms with over 29 years of experience including holding NYS DCJS Certified Firearms and General Topics / Use-of Force Instructor credentials since 1996. Throughout his career he has conducted Firearms, Scenario Based Force-on-Force, Security and Armed Guard practices and Judicious Use-of-Force training throughout the United States for Corporate, Institutional and Law Enforcement clients.
Don is a published author: “Get Off The X” (2017), “Fighting Handgun” (2019) & “Force-on-Force” (2022). He is a frequent speaker at professional investigation association conferences on conducting investigations and acting as a subject matter expert in catastrophic AirSoft and/or Force-on-Force injury cases on both private and/or government matters as well as: Use-of-Force and Negligent Security cases throughout the United States.

Catastrophic Firearms and Force-on-Force Training Injury Cases
This presentation is a 2 hour block of instruction on the history and purpose of force-on-force training, best practices for conducting force-on-force training and investigating catastrophic training accidents, the causation thereof and acting as a subject matter expert.
Stephen W. Shaw: Avoiding Criminal Issues For Private Investigators.
Steve Shaw joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt in 2020. He practices in the areas of Family
Law, White Collar Crime, Campaign Advice and General Litigation. He has represented public
officials and witnesses and conducted internal investigations. This gives him a unique
understanding of involvement in both Federal and State investigations.
Steve is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Birmingham Bar
Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to
practice law before the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of
Alabama and the State Courts of Alabama.
He received his BS in Business from the University of Alabama and his Law Degree from the
University of Alabama. Following graduation, he served one year as the law clerk for United
States District Judge E.B. Haltom, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Northern District
of Alabama. From 1981 to 2020, Steve practiced law with Redden, Mills, Clark & Shaw in
Birmingham and in 2020 he and his law partner, Bill Clark, joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff &
Brandt, LLC.
Steve has been actively involved in numerous civic, charitable and religious organizations
including: The University of Alabama President’s Cabinet, Rotary Club of Birmingham,
Leadership Birmingham (2010), Nine years on the Alabama Commission on Higher Education
(ACHE) (Chair), The University of Alabama A Club Charitable and Educational Foundation, the
Mountain Brook Library Board (President), the Mountain Brook Library Foundation (Chairman)
and the University of Alabama National Alumni Association (District Vice President) and
Independent Presbyterian Church.
In 2015 Steve received the Omicron Delta Kappa, Frances Summersell Award from the
University of Alabama. He has been recognized since 2009 for his practice of White Collar
Crime, DUI Defense, and Family Law by Alabama and Mid-South Super Lawyers. =He has
made numerous presentations and training for State and local elected officials and public
employees under the Alabama Ethics Law and Campaign and Election Laws.
Matt Aubin: Presentation: (Using A.I. as a tactical tool set)
CDFE, FBCI, is the Managing Partner of E3 Legacy Intel and has over a decade of high- tech investigative experience using legal, technical and investigative strategies for complex investigations and proprietary cyber intelligence gathering. Matt is a Certified Digital Forensics Examiner (CDFE), Florida Board Certified Investigator (FBCI), Certified TSCM Countermeasures Technician and has worked on Cyber Cases jointly with the FBI and numerous federal and domestic law enforcement agencies around the United States as a Cyber Investigation specialist. Matt has provided cyber intelligence in high profile political elections and has been responsible for solving cases involving International Extortion Rings, Major Financial Crimes, Internet Defamation, Revenge porn and various forms of Online Fraud. Matt has been declared as an expert witness in Cyber Forensics is featured as a Keynote speaker around the country. Matt has been on the FALI Board of Directors since 2016 and currently serves as the Tampa Area Director.
Juan (Jay) Jacome: Presentation: The Essentials of Criminal Defense Investigations.
Jay Jacome has been active in the investigative industry for over 28 years and has been a Board-Certified Criminal Defense Investigator since 2001. He is the owner, founder, and managing director of Florida Defense Investigations, which provides investigative services to clients throughout the State of Florida and beyond. He has successfully completed thousands of cases in both Criminal and Civil Defense, with most of his focus on major crimes. Jay is certified in interviewing and interrogation techniques through the Reid Institute and is a licensed trainer and investigator in Florida and Alabama, as well as a Capital Defense Mitigation Specialist. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago and a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in active combat during Operation Desert Storm.
Jay is working on his (soon to be released) Book, " The Essentials of Criminal Defense Investigations".
Dr. Kyle Bradshaw: Presentation: SciBIT (Scientific Behavioral Interview Techniques)
Dr. Kyle Bradshaw’s thirty-five years of experience includes Fire Chief, Arson Investigations Commander, Internal Affairs Commander, and police officer. He has held certifications as an advanced truth verification analyst with Computer Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) and advanced Interview and Interrogation Techniques through the Reid Institute. He has published articles regarding truth verification techniques while conducting interviews and the importance of administrative investigations. As an investigations’ commander, he was responsible for more than 1,700 fire investigations and more than 150 internal administrative investigations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety, a Master of Science in Executive Fire Service Leadership, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration: Criminal Justice.
